With its wicked-quick blade access, glass-reinforced Zytel handle, and 1/2 serrated blade, the Flash II from SOG is one of the most extraordinary knives on the market. Its AUS 8 stainless steel blade is cryogenically heat treated to increase toughness and wear resistance, and partially serrated to offer the utmost performance, no matter what the job requires. Features SOG Assisted Technology, which employs a powerful piston lock that is easily released with a sliding button. This sleek design incorporates an additional safety lock that gives added security when the blade is closed.SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs to force the blade open with a greater power than the closing force. This provides you with lightning-quick, one-handed opening capability that is reliable enough to use in either hand with no problems. Includes reversible, bayonet-mounted clip. I've extensively used SOG's knives. I own 3 Flash I's and a Flash II and they're so lightweight, and the AUS8 steel is a medium quality steel to trust for the price. [...].[$] is absolutely absurd. For [$] get yourself a Kershaw Blur with S30V steel. Kershaw's assisted opening isn't that of SOG's, but the steel quality is worth every penny.

Easy, quick one-handed opening and closing;very sturdy blade; sharp and holds an edge very well;comfortable, secure grip; light weight; reversible clip or optional nylon case. This knife has seen heavy use for a couple of years and still looks and performs like new. The thumb studs on this knife are some of the most easy to access of any I've found. This knife is worth three times what I paid.
