I love this reel. Its the quantum code red. I hope they never get rid of this reel. It may be noisy when casting sometimes but just add some grease to the pinion gear every once in a while. Never had any problems and nor do I mind the noise. Your line slap or if you use braid makes just as much noise anyways. This flipping switch with the free spool option is a must-have for flipping jigs into cover its by far the best flipping system out there and its even nice to cast with it on just make sure you hold the thumb bar down the whole cast.

I needed a quick replacement before a weekend tourn. This was on sale at my local GM. Reel worked great the first weekend, but the next weekend I tried it and the grinding noise on the cast and retrieve is unbareable. I just ordered 2 more BPS Extreme reels and this one is going in the garbage.

Comments about GSX™ Quantum Titanium Baitcast Reel, Right Retrieve:
I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It seems very smooth. It would have been nice to have some instructions for all of those features. There is very little documentation and it doesn't give info on basic set up and operation. This is my first bait caster.

Comments about GSX™ Quantum Titanium Baitcast Reel, Right Retrieve:
I bought a abu garcia black max last year as my first baitcaster and had nothing but birdsnests no matter what i tried and gave it to my nephew . I was bound and determined i was gonna learn to cast a baitcaster so after watching many ( how to ) videos on you tube i bought THIS reel at gander mtn and i LOVE It i used it this morning and casted maybe 35-40 times with different lures and wheights and only about 3 Minor overruns . I Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!! I Only wished i could get it in left handed

Oh yeah. I have 15 lb. braided kine with a 7 lb. diameter so if you want you can go as low as about 8 lb. test ( since there's no such thing as 7 lb. test)Answered on 4/24/2010 by Way Bandy from Strasburg, VA
