Comments about Ka-Bar Knives KA-BAR Leather-Handled Straight-Blade Tanto Knife:
for the money, a great value. sensible tanto modification of a knife that was affectionately worn through very tough times in the Pacific WWII. leather-wrapped handle historically correct but may not suffer continual wetness, especially salt-spray. no fears in using for everything from cutting the bacon to freeing a tent stake or stabbing open a can lid, etc.

Comments about Ka-Bar Knives KA-BAR Leather-Handled Straight-Blade Tanto Knife:
I use this knife when going on camping trips. I have even used it to chop through logs/branches for making fire. One thing to perhaps be wary of, is the handle. The handle is great, but if your going to be in a jungle or river, the moisture could damage the leather.

Comments about Ka-Bar Knives KA-BAR Leather-Handled Straight-Blade Tanto Knife:
A wider tang, a thicker guard, and a higher grind combine to form a better knife than the USMC.

A:
you cannot put things in the handleAnswered on 2/9/2010 by Whylighter from the couchA:
I'm sorry, but this is not a survival knife. This is because it is a full-tang blade, which means that the blade goes all the way beck to the handle.Answered on 6/22/2010 by Nicholas G. from Bethel Park, PA
