I got this jacket to kayak in this summer. Half the time I figure it will be off or open in front anyway. There is no zipper if you are wondering. Waterproof pockets? No! There are actual drain holes in the bottom of them. The top does not seal either. It is an inexpensive jacket that will work just fine. If I were to spend hours in it I would get a nicer one. One thing to consider. I weigh 160 and am 5'8". Not big. This jacket is very snug which is fine for me, but any bigger or taller it would not work.

I bought two jackets. The universal size is fine for me (I am 5' 4"). But it is way too short on the back for my husband (5'11"). Nice looking vest though. So my recommendation is yes for me, no for a tall person.
