The overall design is good, with the spring to help open them. However, the spring is not made to last.
You would think since Rapalla makes the pliers from stainless steel and say they are built to last, the spring would be made of better material and would last more than a season or two.
I bought these because they say, they are built to last, and the spring action that helps when you have a fish in one hand and the pliers in the other, and the spring assists in opening the plier's jaws. Then the spring breaks and you loose the helping-hand you have come to relly on.
Maybe Rapalla will fix this problem in the future.

USED PRODUCT TO UNHOOK A SMALL MUSKIE AND PLIERS DID NOT HOLD UP. LEAF SPRING BROKE THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY WERE USED.
