It truly does not get any better than this, I have been looking for a new pole for a while now and I could not find anything better than this. The style is amazing and the front drag is very handy when you are in a struggle for a big fish. I would personally go with this pole over any $200 pole that is out there and this front drag pole is by far way better than its brother rear drag. I recommend this pole to beginners all the way to proffesionals who go every weekend like me. Have Fun!

Comments about Shakespeare Ugly Stik Front Drag Spinning Combo:
I have gotten back into fishing the last few summers after not fishing for years and was looking to replace my out dated gear. I purchased this rod and during fishing season it is in my car at all times. It works great for pan fish when shore fishing and I have caught 6-7 pound fish on it. This is a great do it all rod, little small for trolling but other then that I use this for everything else.

Comments about Shakespeare Ugly Stik Front Drag Spinning Combo:
I took only this rod and reel to Canada on a smallmouth trip. My friends made fun of my CHEAP rod and reel. They paid hundreds for theirs. We caught over 500 smallmouth in one day between the 3 of us. I caught and landed all of mine on this "cheap" Ugly Stik combo...several up to 5lbs. I use this on purpose, as I could afford any rod and reel I want. I only wish it didn't eventually cut a nitch in the line pick-up and cause the line to catch sometimes on your cast. Otherwise it would be perfect.

Q:
What's the difference about front and rear drag. Thanks!Asked on 3/20/2010 by Tommy Boy from Fort Wayne ,IN1 answer
A:
It is really just a personal preference, both will work equally well if set up appropriately, however in my experience it is a bit easier to adjust the drag while landing a fish while using a rear drag system simply because you can keep your hand clear of the line.Answered on 7/17/2010 by Mike from Caledonia, MI
Q:
I am looking for a rod reel combo that would work well for a variety of fishing situations that is also easy to use, durable, and dependable. I have looked at the ugly stik and wanted an opinion on it and others that are comparable. Thanks!Asked on 7/8/2009 by Luke from Canadian,TX1 answer
A:
To answer your question ugly stix can be used for any kind fishing you intend on doing.I have two ugly stick rod and reels that I use for smaller fish bass, crappie, blue gill and etc..I also have two that I use for big fish muskie n pike..they are very reliable and durable,I have had the rod completely bent and it would not snap. The reels are nice n smooth n reel very nicely. I wont fish with any other type of rod n reel comboAnswered on 3/7/2010 by sparky from cleveland ohio
