Q:Do you have to break seals to replace batteries and how secure is the reseal if you have to do it?

A:1. Attach the transmitter cover to the transmitter body
2. Place the transmitter as close to the receiver as possible.
3. Remove the battery cap.
4. Install three (3) AAA batteries according to polarity indicated.
5. Screw and tighten the battery cap.
6. The red LED on the transmitter will flash when it transmits a signal. Temperature of
the transmitter will be updated and displayed on the transmitter’s LCD.
7. Press the “°C/°F” button on the back of the transmitter to change from Fahrenheit to
NOTE: If the transmitter and receiver fail to automatically pair, bring the two units close
together, and press the transmitter button on the receiver for 8 seconds, and then
press the transmitter button on the transmitter for 1 second.
8. Place the transmitter into the water to be tested, and check for signal reception
at the receiver. For most consistent results, tether the transmitter using the tether

A:The initial response time is 5 seconds and after that you will receive a new reading as the temperature changes. If the temperature does not change, you will get a new reading every 2 minutes.
