Comments about Cook Mfg. Cook Electric Hydraulic PT-35 Tilt and Trim:

We have a smaller outboard (15hp), but it still is quite awkward and heavy to repeatedly tilt the engine up and down by hand. We use this boat daily, so the engine goes up/down at least twice per day. So far, this hydraulic tilt is working fine. You can even adjust it "on the fly" to alter the way the boat planes on the water. Our only complaint is that you have to be careful when tilting the engine up. The motor mounting bolts can be crushed because there is not enough room as the hydraulic plate tilts up. It tilts up enough to lift the lower unit out of the water, however. You just have to be cautious not to go beyond a certain point.

Comments about Cook Mfg. Cook Electric Hydraulic PT-35 Tilt and Trim:

I just installed the pt 35 on my 15' Jon boat, with a 25 H.P. nisson, and it worked the first 2 times I used it, then quit. I have not had the customer service contact me yet, emailed them 4 days ago, but it is the week end, plus a holliday, so I figure it will be a couple more days. I hope I ge t it working soon, I am missing out on alot of duck hunting. It is a nice unit, and works great when its working.

I am considering mounting this on my Angler 220 to attach a 2013 Mercury 9.9 kicker. Will this hold up to the seas that I may encounter on the Great Lakes?

Thanks for your question. Yes, this should hold up well in those conditions. This product is made from 1/4" 6061 T6 Extruded Aluminum Construction with Stainless Steel Fasteners. It is rated for 7853 lbs of thrust so it should hold us just fine in rough seas with a 9.9 hp kicker.

These are based on horse power and there are 2 models. One is for 35hp or less and this one is for 35-130hp motors. Order according to your horse power.

This will work with any brand and any year outboard motor that is a clamp on or bolt on application that is UNDER 35 horsepower. If your HP is over that then you will need the bigger one.
