Comments about Johnson Pumps Johnson Cartridge Bilge Pump - 750 gph Open Flow:
I installed the 750gph behind the seat in the cockpit of my 17 foot sea kayak. Since the deck is often awash, the built-in check valve is must which no other 12v bilge pumps come with that I have found.

Comments about Johnson Pumps Johnson Cartridge Bilge Pump - 750 gph Open Flow:
This pump was an easy splice and screw in job. The access to the motor through the top makes very easy to clean or replace the motor if and when it's time to do again. The only bad thing about it is how it won't install itself. Would highly recommend.

Q:
Can this pump be mounted below the waqter line on the rear of a pontoon? Will it last submerged in water?Asked on 3/4/2012 by Frank from Big River, CA1 answer
A:
This pump is designed to be submerged so mounting below the waterline is not a problem. the discharge must be above the waterline, even with the check valve, water will come in through the pump otherwise. In any case I always solder the electrical connections and use heat-shrink tubing to insure that no water affects that connection. There are some solid state switches that can be mounted to turn the pump on and off at the appropriate time, I find solid state switches are much more reliable than float switches. I also add a manual switch in parallel to bypass a water level sensor. If there will be much head pressure the 1000 gph might be a better choice.Answered on 3/14/2012 by Oldmanadrift from Denver CO
Q:
Does this pump operate automatically?Asked on 8/18/2011 by Anonymous from la plata, md.1 answer
A:
You need to add a float switch and a panel switch (wired correctly) for it to work in automatic mode.Answered on 8/29/2012 by Hugo from Vero Beach, FL
