The thing I like most about this vest, it's not bulky like a regular life jacket. It's really easy and quick to put on. It fits great. The only thing I don't like and it's not a biggie, the straps slip off of the vest in front, but that doesn't affect the function of the vest. I'm glad I bought it. I've already recommended it to several people.

It has one large, wide leg hole that both legs go through - I'm not sure what the other reviewer was thinking writing as if that was a defect. Anyway, as everyone else has said, the front strap slips forward off the jacket, and there are no quick connect buckles. The straps connect like a strap on a motorcycle helmet does. As for size, they run true to what is quoted, but that means our 17" chest miniature pinscher is on the upper end of the Medium size. It fits her fine, but think about that -- a min pin is almost a Large. So, pay extra attention to the sizes quoted and measure your dog before buying.
There are two general types of dog life jackets - this kind that has the floatation under the chest, and the other kind that has the flotation on the back of the dog. This kind is better for helping dog float in the water; the other is better if the dog is going to lay around all day in the boat/canoe/etc.

Comments about Gladiator Doggie Vest:
Have a bull dog and medium didn't even go around his chest. Should have ordered XL but they no longer offer the product. Odd since the picture shows a large chested dog.
