1 - Determine Size of Lettering

Letter Height

To make sure your lettering fits in your designated area, please follow these guidelines.

When determining the size of the letters, remember that letter height refers to the
height of the capital letter. Lower case letters are generally half that height.

Most letters are as wide as they are tall. Your letter height times the number of letters
will be the approximate width of your final piece.

For example:

5" letters x 8 letters = average of 40" wide for the final piece.

Note: In order to fit within your alloted space, we will sometimes make adjustments
to the letter width and spacing of certain fonts. However, the preview of your order
will not reflect these adjustments.

Please allow room for letters which ascend above (such as f, l) or which descend below (such as g, j, p, q, y) the line.

Drop Shadow A drop shadow adds extra color and dimension to your boat name. Drop shadow must be ordered in two colors, one for the font (top color) and the other for the drop shadow (bottom color).



Slant A slant will give your lettering a more streamlined appearance.



The following fonts are not available in Slant:





Arch Applying an arch effect to your lettering will change the overall size of the lettering. Do not apply an arch if you have a limited vertical area to work with.
